Phase of Innovation: Scaled

Patented IoT-enabled Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) system

"Grow Paddy Smarter, Conserve Water Better. "
https://www.cultyvate.com/

cultYvate's IoT-enabled Alternate Wetting and Drying system (AWD) uses its IoT sensors coupled with precision analytics and cuts water use by 40%, methane by 60%, fungicide usage by 30% and improves yield by 5% enabling enterprises to achieve Net Zero via AWD-based NBS solution.

Farmers traditionally use flood irrigation to control weeds, as paddy can tolerate waterlogging better than other crops. However, Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) is a water-saving method, though manual AWD is labor-intensive and imprecise, leading to low adoption rates. cultYvate's IoT-enabled system addresses this with sensors that measure water levels every 30 minutes and send irrigation advisories via SMS and IVR. These sensors measure both 4 inches above and 8 inches below the ground with 95% precision, seamlessly integrating technology with agronomy to promote sustainable farming. The system uses IoT sensors, satellite data, AI, and ML models to gather and analyze data. This information is sent to the cloud for analysis, and advisories are sent to farmers if irrigation is needed. A machine-driven follow-up ensures timely action, providing insights on irrigation cycles and resource savings. The Smart Farmer Touch program engages farmers via messaging, IVR, and field officer follow-up, ensuring adherence to advisories. The cloud-based system assesses farmer actions and impacts on paddy farming’s profitability and sustainability, achieving an 82% adherence rate. cultYvate offers high-tech solutions at ₹2,999 and low-tech solutions at ₹499 annually, making it accessible and aligning with Digital MRV practices.
